This year's expanded season will feature two preview productions. First a program of One-Act plays for children and youth. Then, on to Shakespeare's classic fantasy. The official opening of the season will come in October with the wit of Oscar Wilde. The holiday season will find us returning to classic Dickens. The season is rounded out with a Goldsmith Comedy of Manners, a classic Shakespearean tragedy, and a hysterical Moliere farce.

Red vs the Wolf

Shakespeare's Clowns
Many of Shakespeare's comedies feature clownish characters. Shakespeare's Clowns takes a tour of the Rude Mechanicals, Dogberry and his constables, and other well known comic figures.



These two short plays will be combined for one performance directed to a youth audience.

A Midsummer Night's Dream

Hermia's flight into the forest to escape her father's demand that she marry Demetrius brings her and her friends to the attention of the feuding faries, Titania and Oberon. Meanwhile, Bottom and his craftsman friends are also in the forest preparing a play for the marriage of the Duke, Theseus and Hippolita the Amazon. Fairy, Robin Goodfellow, better known as Puck finds many opportunities for mischief. He seems to capture the spirit of the play when he exclaims, "Lord, what fools these mortals be."

The Importance of Being Earnest

She Stoops to Conquer

This Oliver Goldsmith Comedy of Manners will have the audience laughing out loud as they follow the antics of the bashful Mr. Marlow as he he is forced to woo the formidable Miss Hardcastle while really wanting to have fun with a barmaid. He doesn't realize that they are one and the same! Music, chases, and a wallow in the mud completes the adventure as Kate stoops to conquer her new beau.
