2007 SEASON: The Merchant of Venice

The Merchant of Venice
Directed by Bob Smith
October 5th through October 21st, 2007

The plot of one of William Shakespeare’s great dramas, often classified as a “comedy,” involves Shylock, a Jewish moneylender. Shylock has lost his beloved daughter when she elopes with a man who belongs to a virulently anti-Semitic society. Shylock seeks a literal “pound of flesh” from Antonio, the merchant of Venice, when he fails to pay the debt. Portia defends Antonio from Shylock's legal suit. Shylock ends by renouncing his faith and his fortune.

Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 2pm. Advance individual ticket sales are available only through BoxOfficeTickets.com or 800-494-TIXS. Adults are $20; Students/Seniors/City & County Employees are $15.
